Events in Berlin - part one

Berlin is worth a visit during all seasons. There is always something happening. Well or less known events take place throughout the year.

 January

The first month of the new year combats the winter with a big event: the Green Week. Here agricultural products from around the world are presented. The Green Week is interesting not only for trade visitors, but also for the general public. Here you can taste and buy victuals from all over the world. The Floral Hall brings, in the dead of winter, spring to your hearts. The International Green Week, always takes place at Messe Berlin.

February

In February, the red carpet is rolled out in Berlin for ten days. It's time for the Berlinale. International movie stars and starlets are then in Berlin and if you are lucky you can even meet them! This famous film festival has been around for over 60 years. Of course, you can watch movies as well!

March

In March it's time to think about your next vacation. And where do you find the best information about it? At the ITB, which will be held for several days in the exhibition grounds at Messe Berlin.

Spring is finally here, the trees bloom again, and Berlin celebrates the end of winter with a fun fair, the Frühlingsfest, at the Kurt-Schumacher Damm in Reinickendorf.

May/ June

It is Pentecost in Berlin and time again for the Karneval der Kulturen(Carnival of Cultures).  For four days, an international street festival takes place in Kreuzberg. The highlight is the procession on Whit Sunday. Thousands of people attend this colorful spectacle.

It's summer now and street festivals take place everywhere in Berlin.

The Christopher Street Day is celebrated every year in June. Cheerful and colorful is this parade, which is actually a demonstration for the rights of LGBT people.

Friends of classical music are drawn to the Classic Open Air Festival. This event takes place in one of the most beautiful squares in Berlin - the Gendarmenmarkt.
