Useful information - how to get to Berlin


 



By train
Berlin has an extensive network of stations for long-distance, local and regional services. The largest station is Hauptbahnhof, (Central Station) which opened in 2006. There is also a tourist information center.

All train stations are connected to the S-Bahn that allows you to travel easily into the city.


By bus
The Central Bus Station Berlin (ZOB) for domestic and international long distance buses to and from Berlin, is located at Masurenallee in Charlottenburg.
The nearest S-Bahn station is Berlin Messe / ICC, the nearest subway station Kaiserdamm (U2).





By plane 

Berlin has two airports, Tegel and Schönefeld. The new airport BER is under contruction, when it will open is still uncertain, but Tegel and Schönefeld will close then. Public transport (S-Bahn, regional trains and buses) enable a quick journey to the city. From Tegel, the buses X9, 109 and TXL run into the city.

From Schönefeld, bus X7 runs from the airport to Rudow, where you can transfer to the U-Bahn to get to Berlin. S-Bahn lines S49 and S9 run to the center. There is also the Airport Express RE7, RB14, RB22 that runs to the city via Charlottenburg, Zoologischer Garten, Hauptbahnhof, Friedrichstraße, Alexanderplatz and Ostbahnhof every half-hour.


By car
By car, it's easy to get to the capital from everywhere in Europe. Many roads and motorways join the Berliner Ring (A10) from which you can drive into Berlin quickly.
