The East Side Gallery and the KaDeWe
The longest surviving piece of the Berlin Wall, and at the same time the longest open air gallery in the world is the East Side Gallery. It is 1.5 km long and lies between Ostbahnhof and Warschauer Straße.

The KaDeWe (short for KaDeWe) is the largest department store in Europe. It was opened in 1907.

The tallest building in Germany is the Fernsehturm (Television Tower) at Alexanderplatz. It was built in 1969 and is 368 meters high.
You can take a ride on the fastest elevator in Europe in Kollhoff Tower at Potsdamer Platz. It can reach the Panorama Point, (which lies at an altitude of 100 meters) in 20 seconds. The trip is worthwhile, because from the top you have a fascinating view over Berlin! An exhibition and a café await you at the top.

The Friedrichstadtpalast
At the largest revue theater in Europe - the Friedrichstadtpalast - you can admire
the longest chorus line in the world. The revue theater originated from a market hall, which was later turned into a circus. In 1980, the dilapidated palace was closed. A new Friedrichstadtpalast was built and opened in 1984.

The Aquadom and Hackesche Höfe
The Aquadom in Spandauer Straße has the largest cylindrical aquarium in the world. Colorful fish swim around while the elevator is ascending slowly. An employee explains the various species of fish during the journey. The Aquadom belongs to the Sea Life Centre.

The largest complex of backyards in Europe is located in the Hackesche Höfe in Mitte, close to the S-Bahn station Hackescher Markt. They were built in the early 1900's. After reunification, the Hackesche Höfe were rehabilitated and are not only an attraction for tourists. Here you will find a mixture of restaurants, apartments, shops and a cinema.
